  5. Practical experience with Jira for defect logging, tracking, and lifecycle management
  6. Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum, operating inside sprint cadences
  7. Ability to read user stories critically and identify gaps before development starts
  8. Experience testing across multiple device models, OS versions, and network conditions
Secondary Skill:-
  1. Exposure to IoT, energy management, building automation, or connected-device platforms
  2. Experience testing device commissioning, firmware updates, or hardware-integrated software
  3. API testing using tools such as Postman; ability to validate API responses
  4. Exposure to automation frameworks such as Appium, Selenium, or Playwright
  5. Testing role-based and persona-based access control models
  6. Mobile crash and log analysis using Firebase Crashlytics, Xcode Console, or Android Logcat
  7. Awareness of accessibility and usability testing principles
ISTQB certification or equivalent

Roles & Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis & Test Design
  1. Review user stories and acceptance criteria; identify gaps, ambiguities, and missing scenarios before development begins
  2. Raise clarifications with BAs and product owners early, rather than discovering gaps mid-sprint
  3. Design comprehensive test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case conditions
  4. Contribute to authoring user stories and acceptance criteria where requirements arrive incomplete
  5. Maintain and version test case repositories so coverage is traceable back to requirements
Functional Testing - Mobile (Android & iOS)
  1. Execute end-to-end functional testing across Android and iOS, validating feature parity
  2. Validate device commissioning workflows, including QR-code and deep-link onboarding
  3. Test HVAC controls - mode of operation, setpoints, scheduling, and override behavior
  4. Test lighting controls - on/off states, overrides, scheduling, and persona-based permission gating
  5. Validate sensor management - configuration, addition, removal, and reading accuracy
  6. Test firmware update flows, including interruption, failure, and rollback scenarios
  7. Validate site closeout workflows end to end - task completion, photo upload, report generation, and preview
  8. Test push notifications and alert delivery across both platforms and multiple device states
  9. Validate consumer-app functionality for remote monitoring and device control
  10. Test across device sizes, OS versions, and network conditions including offline and poor-connectivity states
Functional Testing - Web Application
  1. Validate site listing, map view, site detail, device management, and reporting modules
  2. Test role and persona-based access control across technicians, administrators, and standard customers
  3. Validate bulk operations, scheduling modules, and job management workflows
  4. Test report generation, data accuracy, and export functionality
  5. Verify cross-browser compatibility and responsive behavior, including light and dark themes
Regression, Sanity & Exploratory Testing
  1. Design and maintain regression suites covering critical business flows; execute ahead of every release
  2. Perform sanity and smoke testing on new builds to establish fitness for deeper testing
  3. Conduct exploratory testing to surface defects scripted cases would not catch
  4. Perform impact analysis on code changes to scope regression correctly
Defect Management
  1. Log defects in Jira with clear reproducible steps, expected vs actual, severity, priority, environment, and evidence
  2. Track defects through their lifecycle and drive them to closure
  3. Retest fixes and run targeted regression around the fix area to confirm nothing else broke
  4. Analyze defect trends to identify recurring problem areas and raise them in retrospectives
Release Validation & Collaboration
  1. Support release validation with a clear, evidence-backed go / no-go recommendation
  2. Work closely with developers to reproduce, triage, and resolve issues quickly
  3. Participate in Agile ceremonies - planning, stand-ups, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
  4. Report test progress, coverage, and open risks accurately and on time against every assigned ticket
  5. Escalate blockers and quality risks early to the Project Manager
